🍏🍏🍏🍏 After 21 years, Pomcast is retired. 1000+ episodes in 4 languages. New site keeps 100+ videos on YouTube, all in under 4 MB of plain HTML/CSS/JS. 100+ episodes survive only in my backup. Built with Claude Code. pomcast.com #podcast #apple #pomcast #wwdc #stevejobs #woz
Homepage in desktop view: the farewell panel "So Long, and Thanks for All the Bytes" with the host's photo and the retirement text signed StuFF mc (63 videos), followed by the "Since 2010" section showing a grid of recent thumbnails — #91 Apple Vision Pro and VoiceOver (March 29, 2025), Pomcast #90 with Ken & Glen from Ecamm (February 4, 2022), a Mac Team panel (June 5, 2020), #89 with Damien & David (May 21, 2015) and #88 Mateusz Stawecki (May 3, 2015). ALT "Thirty video hosts later" article describing how a 21-year-old WordPress multisite became four static pages under 10 MB. "Digging in the dump" section with a table of the four blogs (pomcast.com in English: 453 posts / 63 YouTube videos; fr: 1,784 / 80; es: 56 / 4; de: 184 / 26), followed by the "The graveyard" section on videos scattered across thirty hosts. ALT able summarizing, for each video host, the number of posts, the period of use, and the current status: pomcast.com itself (150 of 372 video files still on the old server), YouTube (124 of 154 videos still playable), blip.tv, Dailymotion, Vimeo, Photobucket, Metacafe, Facebook, Vidler, Veoh, Yahoo Video, Sclipo, vSocial, Revver, MySpace, vPod.tv, Seesmic, Ustream, Howcast, Google Video and Koreus, with colored dots indicating their status. ALT "Offline videos — to-do" page: list of missing videos (111 total), generated from the WordPress dump and checked on 2026-10-14. "English" section (32) with checkboxes and, for each episode, the original addresses and their status (HTTP 404, platform closed, unverified, private) — e.g. #83 (bis) MacBookAir Part 2, #79 WWDC '09 Bash, "Please help @anitale...", Guy Kawasaki 10/20/30, and a 2007 episode on Steve Jobs.
